Planning for peak season

04 Aug 2025

Peak seasons vary from business to business depending upon the demographic and industry they operate in, however, for many businesses the ‘Golden Quarter’ – Q4 – is when demand really steps up.

In preparation for the festive frenzy, businesses start to anticipate the demand they typically experience and consider any seasonal campaigns which they expect may drive a further spike in sales.

And, whilst all this planning is taking part, it’s also hugely important that businesses make plans for their packaging to ensure goods can be shipped to retailers, distributors or end user consumers.

What do businesses need to consider?

To effectively prepare for peak season, businesses often begin by analysing historical data to forecast demand and identify trends. This helps in anticipating customer needs and aligning resources accordingly.

To ensure they can meet expectations it is also important they secure supply chain reliability and one element of this is the packaging they require to facilitate their operations.

And of course, they must also ensure staffing and customer support levels are upscaled to ensure a seamless process and service is delivered during this key period.

How does corrugated packaging support businesses?

Corrugated packaging plays a crucial role in supporting businesses during peak season by ensuring a steady supply of high-quality, packaging tailored to their exact requirements.

By working closely with customers, many weeks and months in advance, a clearly defined strategy can be agreed right from new packaging design or point of sale promotions to delivery schedules.

This is because a truly effective packaging strategy considers not only the practical element of getting product from A to B through the supply chain, but also considers how the packaging, in all its guises, can actually enhance the brand, drive sales and customer engagement and increase revenue.

As an ever-increasing amount of businesses also seek ways of achieving greater levels of sustainability, many also take this opportunity to eradicate hard-to-recycle materials from their supply chains, benefiting both business operations and discerning customers.

Establishing an effective partnership

We believe that creating a packaging solution to meet all peak season or Q4 demands is easily achieved when an effective partnership is established.

We work with our customers to understand how packaging is used in their business operations right from delivery into site, lineside packing, despatch, delivery, storage and supply chain. By establishing this we can ensure the designs we create give the benefits our customers really need such as easy packing, robust storage or being stacked high in containers where superior product protection is required.

It may also be as simple as creating a consumer led unboxing experience that adds something a little special to the process.

Or, it could be an entire seasonal campaign, created from some vivid imaginations and a team of corrugated experts.

Success designed and delivered

At Jardin we have a vast amount of experience in designing and delivering a huge range of packaging solutions, we know we can achieve success for you, your business and your customers.

We start with a rigorous consultation process by one of experienced team. This helps us understand what you currently have (if anything), how you use your packaging and what your goals are.

We then create the solutions for you, including artwork if required, although you welcome to supply this if you wish.

After sampling and any testing, not just at your site but also through independent third-party technical testing where required, we agree a finished product or series of products for production to a pre-agreed manufacturing and delivery schedule.

We keep you informed at every step of the way, working with you to achieve your goals and objectives to ensure Q4 is simple and straightforward, at least from a corrugated packaging perspective.
